Open Source

So, I've got all of these components that I build for my websites that I'm going to start open sourcing.

Why would I do that you ask? Well, mainly becuase I'm a huge supporter of Flash, and one way to ensure that Flash stays on top is to ensure that developers can easily make compelling applications in Flash. So to support this, as i get around to it, i'm open sourcing my components.

New Job!

So, I've accepted a great postion at Yahoo! and as i'm sure you can tell, I'm very happy about it. It's a great company that focuses on what I like to do (web stuff!). *and* there's an office in Santa Monica ... so my days in the Bay Area may be numbered =)

But you know what, as soon as i get to LA, I'm sure i'll miss the bay.

Ninjas vs Pirates

In the ninjas vs. Pirates debate, it looks like the CIA has chosen Pirates. Check out the full image here ...does this mean that Ninjas are terrorists?

Well, if nothing else, since i've mentioned the CIA and terrorists in one paragraph, i'm sure that now my website is in some government database somewhere. awesome.

If it helps prove my patriotism, I vote pirates too.

Right brain vs. Left brain

Check this out... Spinning Dancer

The direction you see dancer spinning supposedly indicates which side of the brain you use more. I'm not convinced of the connection since once you figure out that it's moving more like a pendulum, you can get the figure to change directions at will.

But either way, it's pretty cool.

Blog style

So I've changed my website to be more like a Blog. It's much lower maintenance to update this way. What's that you say? Don't I build sites for a living?! Well yes...so I've got some links to work I've done over there on the right, and I'm going to add some links to a few non-blog pages (photos, webcam, contact form), but not today. it's raining. and i'm sooo enjoying the ease of blogging! let's not make this complicated =)
